Khalil Moore, hafidhahullah, recently said in one of this khutbah’s that it is not enough to say you follow or claim you follow the sunnah like it is only a slogan. You should practice the sunnah, which entails you do two things to sit close to the Prophet Muhammad – peace and blessings be upon him – in a majlis, a gathering in Jannah (Paradise). Only uttering you follow the sunnah will not lead to have the privilege of sitting with the Beloved of Allah, al-Habib, ‘aleyhi salatu wa salam. There are two ahadith on this matter that will guarantee a sitting place:
1.) The ones who say a lot of salawat on the Prophet (s.a.w.s.): aktharukum ‘aleyha salatan as the – authentic – hadith goes. What is a lot? Khalil Moore says you enter into the realm of the sitting place if you say the salawat or durud sharif at least 300 times a day. He remembered us of the verse in surat al-Ahzab: “Inn’Allaha wa mala’ikatahu yusallunna ‘ala an-nabi, ya ayyuhalladhina amanu sallu ‘aleyhi wa sallimu tasliman“.
2.) The ones with the best character: ahasinukum akhlaqa as the – authentic – hadith goes.
Oh Allah let us be of the ones who say a lot of salawat and have the best character in order to obtain a sitting place in Jannah with the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.s.).
